Launch Night
Every year, Launch Night serves as an introduction to MSAP for incoming students and current students alike. It also sets out MSAP’s plans and goals for the year, providing an overview to students who’d like to get involved in our projects.
Treevia Night
Treevia Night is MSAP’s fun-filled trivia event, where teams of participating students battle it out to be crowned that year’s trivia masters. This event aims to raise awareness, and funds, to support MSAP’s work in climate change advocacy.
Birthing Kit Night
Held in conjunction with Birthing Kit Foundation Australia, participants gain the opportunity to support global maternal health. Participants pack birthing kits, which help prevent mothers in Global South from giving birth in unsanitary conditions.
Electives Photo Competition
The Electives Photo Competition takes place during Launch Night, and it is a chance for the participating students of the previous year’s Elective Aid Program (EAP) to showcase their photography skills. These students submit photographs they took during their elective placements, which then get voted on by Launch Night attendees during the event.
Crossing Borders Events
MSAP is a strong advocate for Refugee Health, and stands in solidarity of asylum seekers. Over the years, we have shown our support at rallies and marches in support of refugees and against harmful detention. Prior to each rally we hold banner making nights allowing members to make banners that will be distributed during the rally.
Global Health Short Course
Global Health Short Course (GHSC) is MSAP’s annual educational event aimed at empowering students to take their first steps in global health initiatives. Every year, we invite esteemed speakers to share their knowledge and experience in different areas of global health to students not only from UNSW Sydney, but from all over NSW.
